The First Ever 2010 Star Costumes Horror Scholarship


StarCostumes is launching their first-ever Horror Scholarship. They are rewarding $1,000 to a student studying to work in the horror film industry. Go to their website to learn more about it!


Universal's Halloween Horror Nights XX Website Opens


The website for Universal's Halloween Horror Nights XX is now open. The site will be updated frequently with news items, videos, images, behind-the-scenes looks at content, insight into the minds of the creative team – and more. You can also sign up for RSS feeds to make sure you stay absolutely up-to-date.


South Africa's 6th Annual Horrorfest Coming This Halloween

The 6th Annual Horrorfest is coming to Capetown, South Africa this Halloween season (October 28th-November 5th). This year's exciting week of horrors will include a range of new movies, classics, fan favourites, sneak previews and premieres from around the world, as well as several chapters of short films (international & local), Halloween dress-up prizes, and killer audience give-aways before each movie.  In addition there will again be a big Horror DVD collection (of several dozen movies) up for grabs for one lucky viewer. The Blacklist Art & Film Festival Wrap it’s Tentacles Around San Diego


The Blacklist Art & Film Festival; champions of gore and advocates of fearless creativity, proudly set it’s sights on San Diego to deliver a multi–media spectacle that goes beyond the formula of mainstream culture. Experience a unique display of mind-bending artwork, award winning horror film atrocities, and a night of rock n’ roll mayhem. This special event will be held on Saturday, August 28th at the Birch North Park Theatre (2891 University Ave. San Diego, CA. 92106.) Doors will open at 5pm for the art showcase and the film program will screen promptly at 7:45pm. The Blacklist After Party will immediately follow at Queen Bee’s Art & Cultural Center, one block from the Theatre (3925 Ohio St. San Diego, CA. 92106.) Doors open at 10:30pm and bands hit the stage 
at 11pm.


"Shellter" Nominated for 7 Awards + Official Selection

From Don Donley, Nervousa Films, LLC:

SHELLTER is nominated for seven awards at the Oklahoma Horror Film Festival including Best Actor, Best Actress, Directing, Cinematography, Screenplay, FX and Best Feature.

Congratulations to Will Tulin and Cari Sanders for their nominations. And a big congratulations to all the other actors and the crew on the Best Feature nomination. You made it happen!

SHELLTER is also an Official Selection of another film fest, the Killer Film Festival held this November in Foxboro, MA.

We'll talk about how he came up with the story, his personal experience with Shadow People, his filming style, and the effective use of audio in his film.

Tonight I welcome Ken Daniels to the program; he's the founder and producer of the Fright Night Film Fest that's coming to Louisville, KY from July 30th through August 1st. We'll give you the rundown as to who will be there, the reunions that are planned, and what it takes to produce an event like this.





Also, music is back on the program, and we'll be featuring Ari Lehman's band- First Jason, who will be performing at the Fright Night Film Fest. They will also be performing this Friday night, July 16th in Chicago at Reggie's Rock Room for Metal Mergence.

First, Shannon Lark (The Chainsaw Mafia) and Heidi Martinuzzi (Pretty-Scary) will join me to talk about this year's Viscera Film Festival that's coming to Los Angeles on Saturday, July 17th, and if you've heard them on past shows you know they can bring it! They'll give you the info on what you'll see at the festival including the special guests that will be in attendance, and we'll also talk about women in horror, and other projects both women are working on as well. This is not to be missed!





Plus, The Ghouligans will be here- Pete Bune (Wolfgang), Sean King (Void), and Mike Koscic (Boris)- to talk about their upcoming hosting duties on 100YMM next Friday, July 16th.

Hello All,

Tonight, Lonnie Martin, the director & writer of the new film "Women's Studies" joins me on the show, and he brought with him a special guest- actress Judith O'Dea who co-stars in the film. We'll talk about the importance of social commentary in the film, how Lonnie cast Judith in the role, how they bonded before filming, and Ms. O'Dea will talk about her role, and how women's roles have changed since the 1960's. This is a treat!!!

"Women's Studies" will be released on DVD by R-Squared Films on Tuesday, June 8th. The film stars Cindy Martin (Helena,Hussy of Horror) and Judith O'Dea (Barbara, "Night of the Living Dead").


 


Rick Bates (Dr. Ivan Cryptosis) will join The Undertaker to discuss his upcoming hosting duty at 100 Years of Monster Movies website coming up on Friday, June 11th @ 8PM (EST). They will also talk about the history of Dr. Ivan Cryptosis and Rick's other character Floyd the Gas Station Attendant, who is going after the Guinness Record for a single character appearing in the most number of unrelated horror/sci-fi films with a speaking role. 

Also, Ray McDermott from Film Radar will be here to fill us in on the horror happenings in Los Angeles during the month of June.

We will talk about making a film that deals with time travel; how they decided to present the story, what genre mistakes they wanted to avoid, and the success the film has received at film festivals.
